The spirit of his father, Minato, appears and re-seals the demon in Naruto, who regains consciousness and manages to defeat Pain. The Akatsuki leader attacks using his Six Paths, making it difficult to defend the village and leaving many victims. While training, Pain meets Konan and Tobi and announces that he will invade Konoha. Naruto and Shikamaru reveal the meaning of the letter sent by Jiraya: it said: “The original is none of the 6.” Subsequently, Naruto leaves Konoha to train Senjutsu. The season ends with Sasuke, who, along with his team, battles the Killer Bee to try and capture the eight-tailed Jinchuuriki. The senin loses the fight, but before he dies, Jiraya sends a secret message to Konoha, informing him of Pain’s plans. However, as soon as he reaches the village, Jiraya is detected by Pain. Senin tells Tsunade that she will go to the Rain Village to gather information on the Akatsuki. So the focus of the season goes to Jiraya. Madara reveals to Sasuke that Itachi murdered his family at the behest of the village councilors. Before dying, the older brother gives Sasuke the Mangekyo. Sasuke finds Itachi and the Uchiha brothers finally confront each other, with Sasuke triumphing. Deidara fights Sasuke and ends up attempting a suicide jutsu to defeat the Uchiha clan member but fails. Sasuke then gathers a team to search for Itachi, whom he attempts to kill using the newly acquired powers. Meanwhile, Orochimaru sees his body lose strength as Kabuto goes to find a remedy for his master, Sasuke attacks and kills him, absorbing all the knowledge of his former captor. Despite causing massive damage to the receiver, the technique also ends up causing injury to the sender. The two teams triumphantly return to Konoha, where they discover that Kurenai is pregnant with Asuma.īack in Konoha after the battle against the Akatsuki, Naruto realizes that he must not use his Rasenshuriken again. The blow weakens Hidan and allows Shikamaru to avenge Asuma. During the fierce confrontation, Naruto manages to use his new technique: Wind Release: Rasenshuriken. The Konoha ninja takes on Hidan and Kakuzu, who are extremely powerful. Marked by battles against the Akatsuki duo, season four begins with Asuma’s death at the hands of Hidan and Kakuzu. The season ends when the Konoha ninja meets Hidan and Kakuzu, two members of Akatsuki. He spends the season developing his own techniques, following Kakashi’s suggestion. Naruto spends much of the season training after realizing that his friend and rival Sasuke is more muscular. These events do not interfere with the main plot of the series. This new anime arc is, for the most part, filler, meaning it is not found in the original manga story and was produced exclusively for animation. Sai reveals that he had orders to try to kill Sasuke but gives up on the idea when he sees Naruto’s friendship with the Uchiha clan member.ĭespite the various fights, no character ends up being killed this season. Naruto ends up in a duel with his old friend and discovers that he is much more powerful. Team 7 is tasked with chasing down Sasuke, who is in Orochimaru’s lair.
Naruto and team 7, now made up of Sai, are on a mission to rescue the shinobi. This season, Gaara becomes Kage of the Sand Village and is kidnapped by the Akatsuki.
